About Daniel “Lightning” Dossey

Daniel “Lightning” Dossey is a versatile drummer, educator, and creative force with a career spanning orchestral stages, international tours, and live productions across the U.S.

Originally from Oklahoma, Daniel studied orchestral percussion at Oklahoma City University, earning the first-chair percussionist position for multiple years before choosing to leave and forge his own path as a full-time musician. Since then, he has performed with the Enid Symphony Orchestra, toured China with The Haygoods, competed at the Grade 1 level in international pipe band events, and served as the drummer for Million Dollar Quartet in Branson, Missouri.

Daniel has been a go-to player for numerous artists and productions in Branson and Denver, known for his power, precision, and ability to elevate any live show. Alongside his performance career, he has taught private students, led specialized workshops for fire and police departments, and authored Playing With Fire: A 1st Responder’s Guide to Pipe Band Drumming.

Today, Daniel operates out of his professional home studio, offering remote recording services, producing original music, and creating cinematic drum performances. With a vision rooted in creativity, innovation, and impact, he continues to push the boundaries of modern drumming.
